Bare and exposed
This tree stands alone
Alone...
But it still stands
Tall & strong
Only temporarily robbed of its beauty by winter's unforgiving cold
In the dark
But still...
It reaches forward; toward the light
Despite its crooked appearance and deformation it continues to reach and extend itself
For it knows the sun is soon to shine.
